The CT177
Winch it on.
Tow it home.
A non-runner on a flat-deck trailer usually means a lot of pushing and a lot of swearing. The CT177 tilts the whole deck so the 3,000 kg manual winch can pull the car on at a gentle angle, with you in control the whole way.
It's ideal for project cars moving between home, the workshop and the paint shop, recovering a breakdown on your own timeline, or shifting a car that's been sitting for years.
Moving a non-runner
- Check the tyres hold air and the wheels turn — a seized wheel makes winching much harder.
- Have a second person in the car to steer and use the brakes while you winch.
- Strap the car down at all four corners before you move off.
- Hire for the week ($700) or month ($2,000) if the car is going between workshops.
FAQ
Good questions.
Do I need someone to help?
It's strongly recommended. One person works the winch while the other steers and controls the car's brakes.
Can I hire it for a long project?
Yes — the monthly rate is $2,000 (about $67 a day). For longer than a month, call us for a long-term rate.
What can I tow it with?
Most utes and 4WDs rated to tow up to 3,500 kg. Check your vehicle's towing capacity before booking — we're happy to help if you're unsure.
Do I need an electric brake controller?
No. The CT177 uses federally approved mechanical cable brakes on every wheel, rated for GVMs up to 3.5 tonnes.
How much does it cost?
$120 for 6 hours, $180 per 24 hours, $700 per week or $2,000 per month. A refundable bond applies.
